Don Muang Tollway Prepares for Traffic During Songkran Festival
Don Muang Tollway Public Company Limited is preparing to manage traffic on the Don Muang Tollway to ease congestion during the Songkran festival and to improve service efficiency for users. The goal is to ensure safe travel and minimize the loss of life and property during the holiday period.
Mr. Tarnin Phanichewa, Managing Director of Don Muang Tollway Public Company Limited, stated that the company prioritizes the safety of tollway users, especially during the Songkran festival, when there is a significant amount of travel out of the city. The company has taken comprehensive measures to accommodate increased traffic, in collaboration with the Traffic Police Division. A tollway service center will be set up from April 10-12, 2013, at the Din Daeng 2 toll plaza, offering free vehicle inspections, as well as free water and cooling towels.
In terms of traffic management, the company will work with the police to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow, especially during peak hours and at busy on- and off-ramps. Traffic signs have been installed along the tollway to remind drivers to exercise caution.
For safety, a support team will be available to assist with breakdowns or accidents, ensuring quick response to any incidents. Additionally, the company will monitor safety conditions and enforce speed limits on the tollway.
The company advises tollway users to check their vehicle condition before travel, plan their routes, drive carefully, and avoid consuming alcoholic beverages while driving. For further inquiries or to report emergencies, users can contact the Call Center at 02-7926500 or use the emergency phones available at every 500-meter interval along the tollway, available 24 hours a day.
